Hobbit house opened it's doors to the public in 1993. The original owners Jake & Ester embarked on a mission to create a fantasy world for descerning guests.  In 2001 after six years of negotiations, the house next door was acquired and the Hotel extended.

Their personal touch was added to every inch of the Venue. From the water feature rich garden to the library that overlooks the pool.  Each room has been decorated in a individual style and named after a Hero out of the writings of JRR Tolkien. Conferencing facilities were also extended to accommodate 30 delegates.

On the 1st of December 2007, the Hotel changed owners thereby offering Jake and Ester a VERY well deserved break from more than a decade of toil. The new owners - Jannie and Celesté van der Westhuizen - are eager to bring fresh ideas into the establishment while building on the solid foundation already there.
